Christianity in Egypt

Egyptian people are religious by nature. Christians are typically classified into true believers, those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior and, nominal Christians, those who have not accepted Jesus personally. Muslims are also typically classified into two groups, fanatics and nominal Muslims, those who have chosen not to practice their religion.

Islam is the principal religion of the country.

There are three main denominations in Egypt:

1.Orthodox: 13% of total population

2.Protestant: 0.85% of total population

3.Catholic: 0.32% of total population
