What lengths would you go to win someone for christ?

In the Gospel of Luke Jesus talks about the great lengths that a woman would go to in order to find a lost coin. In another account Jesus talks about the sheperd leaving the ninety-nine sheep in order to find the one that was lost. These searching, pursuing attributes described in these texts set the stage for our pursuit of those who have lapsed from their initial love of Christ or have never known Him.

It is with this in mind that Lutheran Media Ministry has launched a program of football evangelism. This program is to involve and introduce youth to Christ in a lively, enegertic way. The first team launch came at Sofokrom. Aithough the team experienced a loss on the field, only the Spirit knows what gains may have begun for Him. The jerseys were gifts of brothers and sisters in Christ from a Lutheran High School in Indianapolis. They too, were part of this reaching out and caring for other's eternal life. Our God who took on human form to come to earth to save us can use a myriad of ways to advance His kingdom. Soccer is one of them.

Soon after the presentation of the jerseys there was afootball match between the Lutherans and the town teams. The Lutherans were beaten by 1=0 in front of over 300 spectators.

However, the following sunday 15 people were recieved in church as new conerts. Tjhe Grouths have identified with the sportingministry of LMM which aims at attracting the youth and young adults int he communities to actively participate in bringing Christ to the Nations and the nations to the church.

In the Western Region, 4 soccer terams benefitted from the gift of jerseys. These in clude Takoradi, Sofokrom, Wassa East Zone A & B. To God be the Glory.
