The planning committee me a number of times to put in place solid measures for successful program. Additional input was given by the Physical Education Unit with regards to school entry and adopting the best strategy. The program prior to the event enjoyed lots of media coverage on both the radio at television by way of interviews and adverts. Most major FM Radio and TV stations shown keen interest in the program among are these TV3, TV Africa, Peace FM, Hot FM and Happy FM. Coca Cola Company limited also donated crates of soft drinks and water.
By 8:00 am on the 10th November the setup and number of schools registered demonstrated that a sports Festival was on way. The 16 participating schools were present with team members ranging between ages 15 and 20 in number for either female soccer or male basketball competition. The first match took off at 8:30 am. A lot of skills were demonstrated; by especially the female football teams out-doored some heroines whose names became popular by the end of the game.
