Lutheran Hour Ministries Nigeria Inaugurates a new Governing Council
On
Ocober 2, 2003, a new governing council of the LHM Nigeria was inagurated
by the Vice President of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria Rev. O. O. Owatoebe.
The occasion marked a new chaper in the history of the Lutheran Hour Ministries
in Nigeria following its registration as a trusteeship by the federal government.
The occasion was attended by Dr. Walt Winters, The Director of International
ministries, Dr. Menkir Esayas, The Counsellor for Africa and Middle East,
Obong Edem P. Akpainyang, the Chirman of the governing council, as well
as the trustees of the Ministry in Nigeria.
Dr. Nelson Unwene, a former President of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, on November 17, 2003, had a thanksgiving service in his home congregation, to show his thankfullness to God for being called to His ministry.

The President of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, USA, Rev Dr. Gerald Kieschnick, with his wife and a team of advisers, paid an official visit to the Lutheran Church of Nigeria. They were received warmly by the congregations in Lagos, Calabar, Uyo, Obot Idim, Nung Udoe and Afaha.
